This Season Fashion has gone crazy for heavy metal. From bronze T-shirts to metallic skirts, gunmetal dresses to sliver nail polishes the idea is to shine but look a bit cool too. Stella Mcartney and Moschino all sent Metallics down the runway and Toshop and Zara are selling the “bling jeans”.
Ways to wear the trend without looking like you have wrapped up in foil are:
-If you are wearing a metallic dress, keep the accessories and makeup simple and matt.
-For day wear team metallics jeans or skirts with an understated top, or a metallic top adds a bit of rock and roll bling to plain jeans.
-Try adding metallic shoes, bags or nail varnish to liven up a simple outfit.
-Remember NOT to team a metallic top and trousers. Ever.
Strong patterned prints have been big news for the past few months! Polka dots, championed by Marc jacobs, Avant garde geometrics and the lastest to the growing list is the houndstooth(dogtooth). It is a fairly easy pattern to wear especially at work and can be jazzed up with colourful accessories.
